Tips on Auto Glass Care
Since your vehicle is very important to you, you would want it to be at its top shape all the time. Aside from its engine and wheels, you should take care of all the parts of the vehicle. One of the parts of the vehicle that you have to take care of is the glass. Here are auto glass care tips on how to take care of the windshield, door windows, vent window, and back window.
Clean Regularly and Carefully
Sometimes, when cleaning the vehicle windows, you do not see the small particles on it. Since you do not see them, you end up rubbing them on the glass which leaves scratch marks. Dust the glass first before wiping it with a microfiber cloth. Be careful when using a cleaning solution. Use the ones that are for the glass.
Do Not Slam the Door
When the door is slammed to close it, it creates an unnecessary vibration to the auto glass. This could lead to having cracks or chips on the glass. These cracks and chips are usually unnoticed because they are at the sides of the glass. If the doors are slammed often, those cracks and chips will grow bigger. It could cause the misalignment of the glass as well.
Lessen Exposure to Sun
Although the glass on your vehicle is made of a durable material, it can only take too much heat. Since heat can warp the glass, the heat could warp the glass on your vehicle if you do not protect it. If you have to leave your car under the heat of the sun for a long time, better cover the glass, especially the windshield or the back window. This depends on which side is exposed to the sun. If there are cracks and chips on the glass, better protect it. The UV rays and heat of the sun will make the glass vulnerable and could make the cracks and chips bigger.
